Arriving at the club on Saturday morning to a very beautiful but calm morning I had that feeling it was going to be a good day, especially with a quick check that the weather forecast still had a building breeze around lunchtime. 49 young sailors from 12 sailing clubs set off from the club to compete at Sweare Deep. From the smiles when everyone returned to the shore they had obviously had a great time on the water. Congratulations to William Stratton Brown from Frensham Pond Sailing Club for coming first in the Tera Pro and Cassius Day from Gurnard Sailing Club who was first Tera Sport. Full results can be found here.

Photographer-extraordinaire Don Manson was there capturing the action and photos can be found here.

Events like these don't happen by accident and need a huge number of volunteers to make sure not only is there great racing, but also that the sailors are kept safe and of course fed and watered. A huge thank you to all who made the day possible from those welcoming the sailors to the club and our registration and tally team, to all our patrol boats crews, the photographer for the day, Ollie and his team for all the refreshments, the Sailing Secretary for the speedy production of the results and those on standby in case of any protests (not needed on this occasion) and our fantastic race officer team of Bill Tucker, Ben Oakley and Rob Allen who pulled everything together with such professionalism.

And a thank you to all our senior racers who kept out of the way of the fleet.

Thank you to everyone who made the day such a success we are already looking for dates for next year!
