The Volana Casket
The Volana Casket is awarded annually for 'the most enterprising cruise of any one season'. Originally presented by Robin Harbud, a past Commodore of the Club, the award does not rely on a log of a cruise or an extensive photographic album, but on an interesting account of an enterprising trip. Recent awards have been for a Shrimper trip from Emsworth to Poole, a row from Australia to Tasmania, a family cruise from Scotland to Italy and a motor boat trip through northern French canals.
The judges are the Rear Commodore (Sailing) and the Cruiser Captain please contact them for an informal chat about your trip. The winner will need to be willing to present an account of the trip at the Cruisers Fitting Out Supper; if this is not convenient, another event can be arranged.
