Special House Committee Announcement

We are very pleased to announce Phase 1 of the reopening of the Club's food and drink service on Saturday 4th July!!

If you decide to visit the Club to enjoy a drink or have some food, please be aware that there have been a number of changes since you last came to the Club pre-lockdown. We will explain the changes below. Please do bear with us and recognise that there may be some teething problems not least of which, draught ale takes 3 weeks to brew, there are over 47,000 pubs to resupply and our staff need to be taken off furlough and trained in new safety procedures.

The Clubhouse and upper terrace will remain closed to members for the weekend of 4th and 5th of July. However, we will be opening the upper terrace in the future, subject to certain limitations. If racing is taking place the bridge area will be defined by bollards and red & white tape. This area is solely for the Race Officers and Officials and should be respected.

A window service via the wet bar will be in operation and members can enjoy a limited range of food and drinks on the terrace. Seating will be available on the sun lounge terrace and picnic tables will be available to use at the far end of the terrace.

To remind everyone, safe distancing remains at 2 metres or where not possible, 1 metre plus. The "plus" being some other form of mitigation like face masks. Please follow Government Guidance. Members should note RYA guidance to be conservative and considerate in your sailing and when attending the Club Premises.

If the demand for the Terrace is high and jeopardises safe distancing, we reserve the right to restrict entrance to the Terrace and/or stop the bar/food service for a period of time. Flag Officers and Committee Members will be monitoring the situation.

Here are a few key points to remember:

Access to the terrace is via the gates and you should please observe the social distancing marks when you are queuing to make and collect your orders.

Card Payments only (no cash).

On completion of their meal Members (not CCL Staff) are responsible for removing their disposable and recyclable catering items and placing them in the numerous rubbish bins located around the Terrace.

Phase 1: The menu will consist of ice creams, light snacks, pizzas, hot/cold baguettes and of course 'cheesy chips'! If we are really good, the famous "Royal Meat Pies", may also put in an appearance!

All cutlery and plates will be disposable. Please ensure you dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided. Tables will be sanitised between sittings.

There is only limited terrace space available, so a special plea is we conform to the Club Bye laws: Section 3 (5) relating to the consumption of picnics [1].

During Phase 1 and given the restrictions of social distancing, we would ask you not to bring guests to the club.

Toilets: The disabled toilet is solely for females. The toilets in the male changing rooms consist of one cubicle and one urinal. In addition, a port-a-loo has now been installed for females. All facilities will be cleaned with anti-viral sanitiser on a regular basis.

The female changing room remains closed.

Boat washing can be carried out during opening hours, but only in the marked designated areas.

Phase 1 Opening Hours

Thursday 12 noon - 3pm

Friday 12 noon - 3pm / 5pm - 9pm

Saturday 12noon - 3pm / 5pm - 9pm

Sunday 12 noon- 3pm / (Ollie may also open on Sunday evening, dependent on weather conditions)

Ollie will also introduce additional discretionary opening hours subject to the Sailing Programme, tides and weather.

Covid 19 Note

Whilst we are all looking forward to meeting up again, please remember not to come to the Club if you or your household have any symptoms. We will be recording who is at the Club in case there is an outbreak and we can then 'track and trace" in accordance with Government Guidelines.

It will be wonderful for us all to start to re-connect again and to see Ollie, Eloise and the staff bring a slice of normality back to our lives. Success or failure of the re-opening of the social side of the Club will largely depend on everyone respecting the guidelines. Collectively we can make this work!

A big thank you for your patience.

The House Committee

[1] 5. PICNICS: Members are permitted to picnic at the tables located near the swimming pool, on the Upper Deck, at the water's edge away from the slipways and in the Wet Bar. Only food purchased from the Franchisee may be consumed on the terrace adjacent to the Club. Alcoholic drinks are not to be brought to the Club as part of a picnic. All rubbish and packaging should be taken home when leaving the Club.
