Club racing Weekend 4th July

We are pleased to announce a gradual return to dinghy racing this coming weekend. We've been planning this return with ESSC, while still observing the Government's guidelines. On Saturday 4 July, ESSC are planning a three-race series starting at Sweare Deep from Slipper Maid. These are short courses (around 20 minutes each) but are restricted to boats with a PY of less than 1300. At the moment, the forecast is not great, so this may change to a single race 'around the cans' starting from ESSC's line - watch the website and social media for the latest. On Sunday, ESC is running a 'round the cans' race starting from our start line - again, weather permitting.

Please note - you may only sail a double-hander if you and your crew are from the same household. Our race officers and volunteer safety boats are all crewed from the same households. Obviously, we'd prefer not to rescue anyone (!), so it is down to the helms to assess the weather and conditions as to whether they race.

On shore before and after racing, please ensure that you abide by the social distancing guidelines laid down by the Government, and be understanding of others. Please launch and retrieve from the beach if your boat is kept in the dinghy park. There will be washdown facilities on the Terrace, but please keep your distance from other Club members.
